Our online paramedic program utilizes the same high-quality lectures delivered in our traditional classroom settings, adapted for the flexibility of online learning. These recorded sessions allow you to study at your own pace and on your own schedule, fitting your education into your busy life. The program is structured with a clear syllabus and deadlines, ensuring you stay on track and progress through the material effectively. Each course within the program has defined start and end dates, with key milestones along the way to support your learning journey. You can expect to complete the web-based didactic portion of this program in approximately 8 months, laying a strong theoretical foundation for your paramedic career.
Intensive Hands-On Skills Bootcamp
Following the online coursework, practical skills are honed during an intensive 12-day bootcamp held at our West Bridgewater, Massachusetts campus. This immersive experience provides crucial hands-on training in a supportive and focused environment. Here, you will translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills under the guidance of experienced instructors, preparing you for real-world emergency scenarios.
Real-World Clinical and Field Internships
To solidify your paramedic training, you will participate in vital clinical and field internships. The clinical component requires a combined total of 200 hours across diverse hospital settings, including the Emergency Room, Operating Room (OR), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Pediatrics (PEDI), and Obstetrics (OB). These rotations expose you to a wide spectrum of patient care and medical situations. Furthermore, the field internship component involves 300 hours of ride time in an ambulance setting, where you will gain practical experience responding to emergencies and providing patient care in real-time. Crucially, the field internship requires you to take the lead in patient care for 50 patient contacts, building your confidence and competence as a paramedic.
NREMT Certification Eligibility
Upon successful completion of our online paramedic training program at the National Medical Education & Training Center, you will be fully eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification exam. Achieving NREMT certification is a significant step in becoming a practicing paramedic nationwide, demonstrating your competency and readiness to serve in this vital role.
