Just like many of you, I grew up playing Hearts, especially the version that came standard with Windows. My goal was simple: to bring that classic Hearts experience online, offering a version that stands out from the rest. As a game developer, and a fan of card games, Hearts holds a special place, probably making it my most played creation among the online card games I’ve developed, including Shithead and Crazy Eights.
This online rendition of Hearts is built using web-friendly technologies: HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, with jQuery enhancing the animations to provide a smooth and engaging user experience. For the visual elements, I’ve utilized the fantastic resources available at OpenClipArt, a treasure trove of free graphics. Special thanks go to Nicu Buculei for the beautifully designed playing card images and to Gerald G for the player avatars, both of which significantly enhance the game’s aesthetic.
