Discover What’s New in Northwest Savings Bank Online Banking

The latest update to Northwest Savings Bank online banking brings several exciting enhancements focused on security, convenience, and better account management. Let’s explore the key changes:

Enhanced Security Features for Your Peace of Mind

Northwest Savings Bank prioritizes your security. The enhanced online banking platform includes advanced, behind-the-scenes security measures to protect your accounts from unauthorized access and cyber threats. For added safety, the system now automatically logs you out after 10 minutes of inactivity and requires a password reset if you use the self-service unlock or forgot password features. It’s always recommended to keep your operating system and browsers updated and maintain robust anti-virus and anti-spyware protection for comprehensive online security.

CardValet® Integration: Manage Your Debit Card with Ease

Enjoy seamless control over your debit card with the full integration of CardValet® directly into online and mobile banking. No more separate apps! Now you can effortlessly lock and unlock your debit card, set up real-time transaction alerts, and customize spending limits based on transaction type, geographic location, and merchant. This integration provides an unparalleled level of control and security for your debit card usage. While full credit card integration is coming soon, you can continue managing credit card alerts through the separate CardValet® app for now.

Updated Text Banking Number for On-the-Go Transactions

For users who appreciate the simplicity of text banking, please note that the number to send SMS commands has changed to 26790. This updated number ensures you can continue to perform quick transactions via text message. For detailed instructions and a list of commands, refer to the Text Banking section of the Personal Online Banking User Guide.

Money Insights: Formerly Money Desktop, Now Even More Powerful

Gain a clearer picture of your financial landscape with Money Insights, the enhanced version of Money Desktop. This powerful tool allows you to monitor your spending and saving habits across all your Northwest accounts, as well as accounts from other financial institutions. Set budgets, track your progress towards financial goals, and gain valuable insights to help you plan for the future – all within your northwest savings bank online banking platform. If you were a previous Money Desktop user, your settings and preferences will seamlessly transfer to Money Insights.

Fast Balances in the Mobile App: Quick Access to Your Funds

For even faster access to your account balances, utilize the Fast Balances feature in the Northwest mobile app. This convenient option allows you to view your balances without needing to fully log in. You can choose to enable Fast Balances for all accounts or select specific ones for quick viewing on your mobile device.

Important: Account Alerts Require Reset

If you previously set up account alerts within online banking, you will need to reset them in the new system. This ensures that you receive the notifications most important to you. You can customize a wide array of alerts, including account balance thresholds, transaction limits, updates to personal information, fees, and security-related notifications. Take a moment to re-establish these alerts to stay informed about your account activity.

Discontinued Services: Cardswap and Detect Safe Browsing

Please be aware that two services, Cardswap and Detect Safe Browsing, are no longer available with the enhanced online banking system. Cardswap, which automatically updated billing information upon debit/credit card changes, has been discontinued. Similarly, Detect Safe Browsing, which offered supplemental malware protection, is no longer supported. Northwest Savings Bank recommends maintaining up-to-date security software and practicing safe browsing habits to protect your online banking experience.

Account Order and Hiding Accounts: Customize Your View

While the order of your accounts may appear differently in the new system and cannot be reordered, you now have the ability to hide accounts. This feature allows you to remove specific accounts from your account summary view and transfer options, decluttering your online banking interface. You can easily hide or unhide accounts at any time through the “Accounts” menu, giving you greater control over how you view your financial information. Note that hiding accounts does not permanently remove them from online banking.

What’s Staying the Same for a Seamless Transition

Northwest Savings Bank understands the importance of consistency. Many familiar aspects of your online banking experience will remain unchanged:

User IDs and Passwords for Initial Login

Your existing online banking User ID remains the same, ensuring a smooth login process. Upon your first login to the enhanced system, you will be prompted to reset your password as a security measure. You are welcome to reuse your current password if it meets the updated security criteria: 8-32 characters and including an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, digit, and a special character.

eStatements: Access Your Digital Statements as Usual

If you are enrolled in eStatements, your preferences will remain intact. You will continue to access seven years of statement history, and eStatements will look and function just as they always have, providing a consistent digital record of your account activity.

Bill Pay: Continue Paying Bills Without Interruption

The Bill Pay service remains unchanged. All your existing billers, scheduled recurring and future-dated payments (scheduled before 3 p.m. on September 27th), and Bill Pay history will seamlessly transfer to the new system. You can continue to manage and pay your bills with the same ease and convenience.

Account Nicknames: Your Personalized Account Labels Remain

Any account nicknames you have previously set up will carry over to the enhanced online banking platform. This ensures your personalized account labels remain, making it easy to identify and manage your various accounts.

Prior Account History: Transaction Records Readily Available

Upon logging into the new system, you will initially see transaction history dating back to February 1, 2021. For older transactions, you can easily access your eStatements. Northwest Savings Bank is working to make additional transaction history available soon. Please note that mobile deposit history is exclusively viewable within the mobile app.

Account Numbers and Routing Number: Easy Access to Essential Information

Finding your account numbers remains simple. They are readily accessible within online banking under “Account Details” > “Show Full Account.” Northwest’s routing number is conveniently located at the bottom of every page within online banking for quick reference.

External Transfer Accounts: Linked Accounts Remain Connected

If you have linked accounts from other financial institutions to your Northwest Savings Bank online banking, these connections will remain in the enhanced system. External transaction limits and processing times (1-3 business days) will also stay the same. Adding new external accounts will still involve micro-deposits, which take up to three business days to be received for verification.

Deposit-Only Accounts: Your Setup Transfers Seamlessly

Any deposit-only accounts you have established will automatically transfer to the new online banking platform, requiring no action on your part to maintain these accounts.

Quicken, QuickBooks, and Mint Connections: Reconnection Guides Available

If you utilize Quicken, QuickBooks, or Mint to manage your finances, some steps are required to re-establish the connection with the enhanced northwest savings bank online banking system.
