Fareway Online Shopping: Revolutionizing Your Grocery Experience

Fareway Stores Inc. has officially broadened its horizons, bringing the beloved Fareway shopping experience to the digital realm. Nearly 50 Fareway Meat & Grocery and Fareway Meat Market locations are now offering convenient online shopping options, with plans to extend this service to all stores in the coming months. This move marks a significant step in enhancing customer accessibility and adapting to the evolving needs of modern shoppers.

This exciting expansion began with a successful click-and-collect launch at the flagship Fareway store in Boone, Iowa, last January. Customers can now easily browse and purchase their favorite Fareway products online through the grocer’s website or the user-friendly Fareway mobile app. The flexibility of this service is a key highlight, allowing order modifications up to 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, with orders ready for collection in as little as four hours from placement.

“We recognized that some online grocery platforms haven’t quite captured the essence of a truly satisfying shopping trip,” stated Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “Therefore, we are thrilled to elevate our distinctive Fareway shopping experience by integrating the ease of online ordering. Our customers can still expect the same high-quality fresh meat, precisely cut and packaged to their specifications, and perfectly ripe produce, hand-picked with care, alongside thoughtful substitutions when necessary. Now, this quintessential Fareway experience is available through a convenient new avenue.”

The robust online platform powering Fareway’s e-commerce venture is provided by GrocerKey, a Madison, Wisconsin-based company. GrocerKey specializes in empowering brick-and-mortar grocery businesses to thrive in the digital marketplace by offering a comprehensive suite of white-label e-commerce technology and proven operational strategies. Their expertise is further validated by a recent equity round in February where they secured $2.4 million from private investors, boosting their total investor funding to $9.5 million. This partnership ensures Fareway’s online shopping platform is built on a foundation of cutting-edge technology and industry best practices.

Fareway, a family-owned company deeply rooted in the Midwest, currently operates 128 stores across six states and employs over 12,000 individuals. The company’s commitment to quality and customer service has solidified its position as a leading grocer, evidenced by its ranking at No. 79 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s prestigious list of top food and consumables retailers in North America. With the introduction of online shopping, Fareway is poised to further enhance its customer relationships and cater to the demands of today’s fast-paced lifestyle, bringing the trusted Fareway experience directly to your fingertips.
