Step 2: The Eligibility Interview Process
After you submit your food stamp application online, a SNAP caseworker from TDHS will reach out to you within 10 days to conduct an eligibility interview. Step 3: Submitting Your Verification Documents
To fully process your food stamp application online, you will likely need to provide documentation to verify certain aspects of your application. This might include documents confirming your social security number, identity, current address, income, housing costs, utility expenses, available resources, potential deductions, and any circumstances that demonstrate your need for SNAP benefits.

Step 4: Application Processing and Decision

Step 5: Mid-Certification Form (For 24-Month Certification Period)
This step is specifically for SNAP recipients who are part of the Simplified Reporting 24-Month Certification group, which includes households with all members over 60 and individuals with disabilities. If you are in this group, your certification period for SNAP benefits is 24 months.
To maintain your benefits, you are required to submit a Mid-Certification Form. This form is due at the 12-month mark after your initial approval, halfway through your 24-month certification period. Important: Failing to submit the Mid-Certification Form by the specified deadline can lead to the termination of your SNAP benefits.
Step 6: Application Recertification (Renewal)
For those with a 24-month certification period, your SNAP benefits are not automatically renewed after two years. If you wish to continue receiving benefits, you must apply for recertification.
The recertification process involves completing a new application and may include another interview and reverification of your information. TDHS will notify you about your recertification date and the necessary steps two months before your current SNAP benefits are set to expire.
